Landscaping Design in Baton Rouge, LA

If you’ve ever stood in your yard and felt like it has potential, but you’re not sure what to do with it, you’re in the right place. In Baton Rouge, our outdoor spaces can be incredible, but they also come with a few challenges. Between the heat, humidity, heavy rain, and fast-growing plants, it’s easy for a yard to feel overgrown, uneven, or unfinished. At Goose Tree Fence Landscape, we provide professional landscaping design in Baton Rouge, LA to help you create an outdoor space that looks great, functions well, and actually fits the way you live.

Whether you want better curb appeal, a backyard built for entertaining, or a layout that makes your property easier to maintain, our team can help. Our landscape design process brings structure to your ideas and gives you a clear direction, so you’re not wasting time or money guessing what will work.

Why Landscape Design Matters

Baton Rouge isn’t the kind of place where you can copy a landscaping idea from another state and expect it to thrive. Our climate and soil conditions are unique, and the way water moves across a property can change fast when storms roll through.

Landscape design in Baton Rouge needs to account for:

• High humidity and long growing seasons
• Sudden heavy rain and runoff patterns
• Areas that stay soggy or collect water
• Hot summers that stress certain plants
• Shade and sun exposure that changes throughout the day

When you start with a real plan, you avoid costly mistakes. You also get a yard that looks intentional, not like a collection of random upgrades done over time.

What We Do as Your Landscape Planner

A landscape planner doesn’t just pick plants and call it a day. Our role is to help you bring everything together. We look at the property as a whole and design a layout that creates flow, balance, and usability.

When we create a landscaping design plan, we help you consider:

• How you want to use the front and backyard
• Where you need shade, privacy, or open space
• What kind of maintenance level you want
• How to improve curb appeal without cluttering the yard
• Where drainage issues might affect long-term success

Our services are designed to help you feel confident about every upgrade, because it all connects.

Landscaping Design That Works

The best landscape design doesn’t just look nice. It fits your home and your routine. A family with kids needs different outdoor flow than a homeowner who wants a quiet garden retreat. We build plans that reflect what matters to you.

Landscaping design can include things like:

• Planting bed layouts and garden design
• Shrub and tree placement for structure and shade
• Walkways that create cleaner, safer movement through the yard
• Mulch bed borders and clean edges for a finished look
• Outdoor gathering zones that support patios and seating areas

We design outdoor spaces that feel like a natural extension of your home, not something separate that you only notice when it needs work.

Landscape Design That Handles Baton Rouge Rain & Drainage

Drainage matters here. A lot. Baton Rouge rain can create pooling, muddy patches, and erosion if a landscape isn’t planned correctly. A strong landscape design considers how water flows, where it collects, and how to protect your lawn and beds from washouts.

During the design process, we look at:

• Low spots that hold water too long
• Slopes that cause runoff issues
• Areas where landscaping is being washed out
• Bed placement that works with water flow, not against it

A good design makes your yard easier to maintain, especially during storm season when a poorly planned yard can turn into a mess fast.

From Curb Appeal to Backyard Comfort

Some customers come to us with one main goal: make the front yard look better. Others want a full backyard transformation. Either way, landscape design helps connect everything so your property feels cohesive.

Our Baton Rouge landscape design work can support:

• Front yard landscaping that boosts curb appeal
• Backyard layouts built for relaxing and entertaining
• Planting designs that bring color and texture
• Privacy landscaping along fences or property lines
• Upgrades that pair well with hardscaping features

It’s all about creating a space you enjoy looking at and spending time in.
